the Expectations On Expecting

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Becoming pregnant can be one of the most special times in someone’s life. There are, however, a lot of changes in your body during pregnancy that you should be aware of. Pregnancy care information will be readily available from your obstetrician and you should abide by the recommendations provided to ensure you have a comfortable pregnancy resulting in a healthy baby.Changes in your body during pregnancy will occur during the different trimesters. The first and the last trimester are typically when women feel the most discomfort. The second trimester is usually a bit of a reprieve with many women getting over some of the changes, being more comfortable and enjoying this portion of the pregnancy. The first and third trimester, however, is when the most radical changes are occurring that are foreign to a non pregnant state. Thus, the woman carrying the child may be uncomfortable and ill during this time. Morning sickness or for that matter a feeling of nausea any time of the day is a very common result of pregnancy and happens most frequently in the first trimester. There also may be an increased sensitivity to smells which will trigger nausea. Sometimes these smells are ones that are typically enjoyed when not pregnant. These should be avoided if possible. Eating bland food when a person is feeling nauseated also helps alleviate the symptoms. Breasts may begin to enlarge very early in the pregnancy and will continue to throughout the pregnancy. You may also notice tenderness during this time and increased sensitivity. This is the time to invest in a few well fitting bras. Of course, as your breasts grow the size may change somewhat but it will be more comfortable for you if you have a bra that fits well and offers plenty of support. Urinary frequency and thirst in prenatal care is another common side effect of pregnancy. Women tend to be more thirsty and need more nourishment including drinking plenty of water. Drinking more fluids coupled with the uterus growing and pressing on your bladder will cause most women to have to urinate a lot more frequently than they used to. This is common throughout the pregnancy but is most pronounced during the first and last trimesters. During the second trimester, this usually subsides a bit but most women will still have a sense of having to urinate more frequently than when not pregnant.

Things You Will Want To Know When Becoming A First Time Mother

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

When you become a mother for the very first time it can be one of the most scary and rewarding things all at the same time. When you have your baby that is when the real worrying starts. You may have been worried about your baby while you carried him or her but that is nothing compared to the amount of fear you will feel for your baby now.

It is our responsibility as mothers to keep our sweet baby happy and safe. Worrying over your baby is normal and just because they get older does not mean it will stop. Just try to remember that your child has to live their own life and learn things by themselves but there are times they will need your help to learn. When your baby first learns to walk or crawl and you have home space heaters in your house, this is definitely a time that you have to help them learn.

This is a great example of a time to teach them. There are things that will be alright for your baby to learn on their own but if the lesson will cause them harm it is the mothers job to stop it. Some people like to say that if they hurt themselves doing something then they wont do it anymore. I believe this is a horrible way to let your child learn something. It is not necessary to let your child come to harm so they can learn something.

When bathing our babies we use tear free shampoo and baby bath so our babies eyes don’t burn, so why not keep them from hurting any way we can? If there are space heaters in the house just remember to put them somewhere the baby can not reach. Babies grow too quickly and one day when you are storing all your baby boy bedding or your little girl clothes it will hit you just how quickly your baby became a toddler.

It is important to be with your baby as much as you can. You don’t want to miss out on anything because before you know it they will be using big kid underwear and sleeping in a big kid bed. This is not to say that you should not get a babysitter occasionally. Mothers need breaks and that is alright so never feel bad about hiring a sitter for your baby.

If you are one of the mothers that calls the sitter every half hour to check on your baby, that is alright too. If you are worried about your baby and you will be, it is perfectly fine to reassure yourself. Just like you have to teach your baby things, you have to teach yourself to have a good time even though you are worrying.

All mothers worry, they just learn to put it in the back of their minds and to not dwell on it constantly. One day your baby will have children of their own and you will get to see just how great a job you did in teaching your baby even though you were worried the whole time.

Realise the Phases of Your Pregnancy Through Pregnancy Calendar

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

The 40-42 months of the pregnancy calendar will put a woman’s body through great transformations. Even if traditionally we refer to nine months of pregnancy, the actual interval is a bit longer, towards 10 full months. There are three main stages or trimesters that mark the essential phase of evolution and growth in the womb. The embryonic stage characterizes the first three months, the second trimester with accelerated growth and organ development: it is a fetus now.

With the last three months of the pregnancy calendar, the baby is fully formed, but it just needs to grow and accumulate some fat under the skin in order to be prepared to live in the outer world. A pregnancy is considered complete between the 38th and the 42nd week, as it is perfectly normal for the baby to get born any time during this interval. Any baby born before the 38th week is a pre-mature and may have health problems, usually breathing difficulties.

Thanks to modern medical equipment, the survival rate among pre-mature babies is pretty high, but they have to remain in a special environment that resembles the womb conditions, until they reach a  good weight and can feed and breathe on their own. Pregnant women usually keep a pregnancy calendar, that very much resembles a diary. The evolution of the baby is also monitored by the doctor in the monthly check ups.

There are plenty of online resources that can help you create a pregnancy calendar of your own. It is normal to feel fascinated about the progress your baby makes with every day it spends in the womb. The average couple know too little of the processes that  occur within the body during pregnancy, and without access to informative materials people would remain completely ignorant. Both fathers and mothers show interest in the pregnancy calendar.

The pregnancy calendar is much more interesting when expecting the first baby. It gets much easier to welcome the new family member by carefully monitoring it. By tracking the baby’s progress along the 9 pregnancy months, people learn to love their baby, they start making plans and choices for their life together. A pregnancy calendar gives people a chance to understand more about how life works in its most profound ways.
